DESCENT - BODY AS HOME

A 9-week somatic group mentorship for feminine embodiment

This group mentorship will guide our descent from summer, through fall, into winter. Together, we will descent down into our bodies, our cyclical nature and our role in the larger eco-system

Inspired by the magic of our monthly full moon ritual, I felt the desire to create an offering that allows us to be in community over a longer time, so we can gently, at the pace of our bodies, reconnect to the innate wisdom stored in our soma. 

​

I'm offering this group mentorship for women who feel the desire to gain a deeper embodied understanding of their cyclical nature, their unique female soma & psyche, their organic ways of being and moving, their pelvis & womb. ​​​​

During our 9 weeks together as an intimate group of women, we will move from dissociation and chronic dysregulation, towards embodiment, through the somatic lens of our unique female nervous system.

 

What does it mean to become embodied?

  • it means we disconnect from the linear & reclaim our cyclical ways

  • it means we mother ourselves in all the ways we were not mothered

  • it means we cultivate safety within, orienting our nervous system to the parts of us that are safe & whole

  • it means we slow down & reintegrate the essence of yin

  • it means we resensualize and learn to speak the language of our nervous system: sensation

  • it means we embody our menstrual cycle (or (peri-)menopausal journey) 

  • it means we descent down into our depth, our womb & pelvis

  • it means we understand and experience our vital role in the larger eco-system

  • it means we feel what wants to be felt, move what wants to be moved 

Every session we gather in circle, we share, be witnessed, co-regulate. learn, spend time with our bodies, through the somatic practices of yin yoga, embodied movement, touch & more.

 

This is a community-focused journey. We cannot heal in isolation. We need to feel held & supported. In community we will explore: ​

  • why are we so disconnected from our body? (cultural/societal/individual lens)

  • what is preventing me from connecting to my body? (trauma/nervous system dysregulation) 

  • how can I start to reconnect to my body? (cyclical living, resensualization, slowing down, embodied movement)

  • what does my body need, what wants to be felt? (speaking the language of the body, actually feeling instead of intelllectualizing)

The whole journey is one of continuing to cultivate the inner mother through attunement, softening & safety. Our body will be our guide, she will set the pace, direction & rhythm.

 

There will be continual support through the 4 months via a whatsapp group with rituals & regular check-ins + a recommended reading list which will support our sessions. Additional resources like herbs, recorded meditations & practices can also be included.

What does it mean to descent, the Inanna myth, embodiment, cyclical living, eco-somatics, nature as co-regulator, reclaiming our feminine, rewilding, finding our way home, inner safety, essence of yin, the void, reclaiming intuition & instinct, inner seasons, menstrual cycle, Life/Death/Life Cycles, womb, pelvic bowl, the inner mother, unmothered women, mothering ourselves, embodied anatomy, female nervous system education, burn-out, stress management, body talk & wisdom, boundaries, emotional regulation, authentic desires, somatic movement, touch, and more.

We will gather on Thursdays from 20h until 21h30 at De Melkerij in Veltem on the following dates: ​

Price

€360 or 4 payments of €90 

This includes 9 sessions, a recommended reading list, access to the whatsapp group and possible extra resources such as herbs or recorded practices where needed.

Depending on the participants, the sessions will be in English or Dutch.

No yoga experience needed! All ages are welcome.

My work is trauma-informed & female nervous system based. This means we go slow, we don't rush, we have full agency over our bodies & experiences & we adapt any practices to our unique needs. 

​

It is my intention with the group mentorship to go beyond the usual coping strategies that enable us to continue living in a society that has little room for our female experience.

​

Rather, this work is deep, counter-cultural, transformative & healing on a cellular level. We will not shy away from our authentic experiences and innate desires as women for rest, safety, attunement, softness & empowerment.
