WHOLE & HELD RETREAT

10-14 October 2024, Marrakech

It is happening! A dream come true. We are going on retreat!

​

5 days, 4 nights in our beautiful Riad in Marrakech. Lots of yoga, nourishing foods, sunshine & rest. An opportunity to dive within & discover the profound wisdom stored inside your body. A moment to feel held by yourself & each other. Resting in softness, a deep slowing down.

​

A remembrance of what you are: always whole, always held. 

​

I want to say it will be a moment to take a break from regular scheduled programming, but it will be so much more than that. I know from my own journey that being seen & feeling safe in community can be a profound healing experience and an essential part in our individual unfolding.

Our daily schedule (subject to change)

​

  • Morning meditation + embodied movement practice

  • Brunch

  • Time for integration, journaling, spa-treatments, exploring, ..

  • Some afternoons a deep-dive workshop or conversation

  • Tea + snack break

  • Late afternoon somatic yin practice

  • Dinner in Riad or other restaurant

  • Some evenings, extra activity (yoga nidra, ecstatic dance,..)

Check-in on 10/10 - from 14h

We will start the retreat around 15h with an opening ceremony & first practice, followed by a welcome dinner at the Riad. 

​

Check-out on 14/10 - by 11am

We will end the retreat with a closing ceremony followed by our final brunch together before we say goodbye!

During this retreat we will ever so gently unwind the layers of tension, fear & constriction holding us back from experiencing feeling at one with ourselves & each other. It will be a journey of embodiment, exploring our internal landscape and cultivating the inner mother, welcoming all parts of us with love, especially those that have been rejected for years. 

​

Between somatic yoga practices & deep-dive workshops, there will be time for integration, journaling & rest but also an opportunity to explore the city of Marrakech at your own pace. Whenever you feel overwhelmed or overstimulated, you can retreat into the quiet corners of our Riad. A balance between intentional solitude & nourishing connection. 

​

An opportunity to surrender into the safety of our communal energy and feel truly taken care of - physically, emotionally & energetically. You are invited to move through the retreat at your own pace, always listening to your body. There is no rush.

Price 

​

There are 4 rooms, all double shared. All rooms have their own bathroom, airconditioning & wifi. If fully booked, a few extra rooms might be added in April, depending on availability of the location. Or an upgrade to a private room might be possible (€320 extra).

 

Price €950 

A €450 deposit is required for booking. The remaining amount is due in September

Bookings open Tuesday 19/03 at 11h.

What is included?

- 4 nights in shared room

- Daily nourishing brunch & dinner

- Afternoon snack + tea, coffee, water & juice throughout the day

- All yoga classes & workshops

- Marrakech airport pick-up & drop-off 

 

What is not included?

- Flights

- Optional activities such as spa treatments, museum, ..

- Travel insurance

- Extra food & soft drinks

The retreat will be in English or Dutch, depending on participants.

Location 

​

We will stay in the beautiful BE Marrakesh Riad in the heart of Marrakech! From here, can easily explore the city, it is around 15 minutes on foot to the Medina & downtown area.

​

All rooms look out onto the inner patio, with a small pool & different areas to lounge & relax. Yoga classes will take place on the rooftop or indoor studio, depending on the weather. You can also book a spa-treatment at the in-house hammam upon arrival.

​

Currency: Moroccan Dirham - plenty of ATM & currency exchange 

International Passport (valid for 6 months) is needed to enter Morocco. No visa is needed if you travel from the EU.

Food​

​

Most meals will be in the in-house rooftop restaurant.

​

We will have our daily brunch between 10am & 11am, consisting of:
- A plate of cut up fresh seasonal fruits 

- A basket of variety of Moroccan bread 

- Amlou (Moroccan almond/peanut butter), cream cheese and seasonal jam 

- Eggs (scrambled or fried) 

- Cake of the day (cake or pancakes or waffles)

- Homemade granola made with honey and nuts

- Our homemade yogurt

- Orange juice, coffee, and/ or mint tea.

​

Dinner will be around 19h, mostly at the in-house restaurant / one or two nights in a different restaurant.

​

Most afternoons we will have a snack: some fruit, dates, nuts, cream cheese + bread,... Tea, water, coffee & juice is included throughout the day. Soft drinks and additional snacks are not included but can be ordered upon request. Vegetarian, vegan & gluten-free option are available upon request.

Yoga Practices​

​

Our yoga practices will weave together different teachings: flow, embodied movement, yin & restorative yoga, yoga nidra & somatics. Within my gentle guidance & support, you are encouraged to follow your inner authority: your body. 

​

Our practices will support you diving deep within, connecting to the subtler layers of your being.  This means that different emotions, sensations and experiences will come to the surface. Between practices you will have time to rest & integrate anything that shifted internally.

Any last questions?

​

  • Can I come alone?

    • Yes, most participants will come alone, and it is actually encouraged!​

​

  • Will I know who I am sharing a room with?​

    • Yes, I will create a whatsapp group with all participants and will group you together with someone of similar age & background. If you do come with a friend, you can share a room. ​

​

  • Can I come early or stay longer?

    • You are free to add some extra time to your holiday. Our main focus will be yoga, with free time every day to rest & explore, but if you want to have more time to see Marrakech, visit museums, go to the desert or coast, I recommend you stay a bit longer! However, airport transfer is only included on the start & end date of the retreat.​​

​

  • What flights to I book & when should I book them?

    • There are flight options from both Zaventem & Charleroi. I would check the Ryanair website & others to see all options & compare prices. The best option is to fly into Marrakech Menara Airport. Once your retreat booking is confirmed, you can book your flight. It is up to you to decide if you want to book early or more last-minute. ​

​

  • What do I bring?

    • Loose, comfortable clothing that can be used for yoga, relaxing & exploring. No special yoga clothes are needed. ​

    • A journal.

    • A swimsuit.

    • Sunscreen + sunglasses.

    • Passport!

    • Yoga material is provided, you do not need to bring a yoga mat.

    • Basic toiletries such as shampoo & shower gel are also provided.

    • In general I suggest to pack light!

​

  • I have a physical injury, or other medical condition. Can I still join?

    • In this case I recommend you sending me an email before booking so I can be sure I will be able to support and accommodate you during the retreat. â€‹

​

  • What will the weather be like?

    • In October in general Marrakech will still be sunny & warm, with temperatures between 15°C & 28°C.​

​

  • What if I have to cancel?

    • Cancellation policy: If you cancel before July 1st, you will receive 85% of your deposit. After July 1st, the deposit is non-refundable.

​
